Zelenskyy says Russia should be invited to next peace summit

The Ukrainian president revealed plans to prepare a peace proposal, addressing key issues such as territorial integrity and sovereignty. However, he noted that the Kremlin’s conditions for talks, including relinquishing occupied territories and renouncing NATO membership, remain unacceptable to Ukraine and the West.


Russian attacks across Ukraine kill 4, injure 27 over past day

Russian attacks against Ukraine killed four and injured 27 people over the past day, regional authorities reported early on August 1. Russia targeted a total of 10 Ukrainian oblasts over the past day – Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, Luhansk, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Donetsk. Casualties were reported in the latter seven regions.


Forbes: Ukraine surpasses Russia in long-range drone attacks in July

In July, Ukraine launched more long-range drone attacks than Russia for the first time. According to published figures, Ukraine hit back with over 520 drones in July, while Russia sent 426 Shahed-type drones into Ukraine during the same period, Forbes says. This year, Ukraine has intensified its drone attacks against the Russian oil industry, significantly disrupting fuel supplies crucial for the Russian military, while simultaneously decreasing the Kremlin’s export revenues.


EU sees no threat to Hungary, Slovakia due to Ukraine's Lukoil sanctions

The European Commission said on Aug. 1 that it is still investigating the situation with oil supplies to Hungary and Slovakia after Ukraine stopped the transit of Russian Lukoil oil, but it has not seen any impact as of now. In June, Kyiv imposed sanctions blocking the transit of pipeline oil from Lukoil through its territory to cut off the Kremlin's source of income used to support its military. Kyiv's ban does not apply to other Russian oil exporters who still use the pipeline.
