Ukraine's Commander-in-Chief: 74 settlements of Russia's Kursk Oblast are under Ukraine's control

Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has informed Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, that Ukraine’s defense forces control 74 settlements in Russia’s Kursk Oblast. Despite the difficult and intense battles, Ukrainian forces continue to advance in the Kursk region, and Ukraine’s "exchange fund" is growing. 


Ukraine's Foreign Ministry says Ukraine not interested in taking Russian territory

Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stressed that Ukraine is not interested in "taking" territory in Kursk Oblast of the Russian Federation, but wants to protect the lives of its own people. The operation does not allow the Russians to transfer additional units to Donetsk Oblast and complicates Russian logistics.


Putin should 'get the hell out of Ukraine' if concerned about Kursk Oblast, White House says

Russian President Vladimir Putin should end his country's war against Ukraine if he is worried about the Ukrainian incursion into Kursk Oblast, U.S. National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby told reporters on August 12. "...make no mistake about it: This is Putin's war against Russia.  And if he doesn't like it, if it's making him a little uncomfortable, then there's an easy solution: He can just get the hell out of Ukraine and call it a day," Kirby said.


Russia evacuates people fleeing Kursk Oblast to Russian-occupied areas in Ukraine

Alexei Smirnov, acting Governor of Kursk Oblast in Russia, has said that civilians evacuated from Kursk Oblast will be relocated to the Russian-occupied territory of Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia Oblast.


EU transfers €4.2 billion to Ukraine as macro-financial tranche

The European Commission has transferred almost €4.2 billion to Ukraine as part of the first tranche of the Ukraine Facility programme. The funds are part of a macro-financial assistance programme for Ukraine worth up to €50 billion.


Trump criticizes Biden over remarks on Ukraine's NATO membership

US presidential candidate Donald Trump has criticized the current president, Joe Biden, for his comments regarding Ukraine's potential NATO membership and reiterated that if he had been president, Russia's war against Ukraine would have had "zero chance" of starting.
