Largest attack on Russian territory: drones hit targets in several Russian regions at once

Late last night, drones attacked Kresty airport in the Russian city of Pskov, which is more than 650 kilometers from the border with Ukraine. Russia’s emergency services reported that 4 IL-76 aircraft were damaged. Ukraine's Defence Intelligence confirms destroying 4 Il-76 aircraft and damaging 2 more. In addition, military targets in several other regions, including Bryansk and Tula, were also attacked. In Moscow, all airports were temporarily closed.


Russians attacked Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Cherkasy, Odesa, and Mykolaiv regions at night

Tonight, Ukraine’s air defenses shot down all 28 cruise missiles and 15 of 16 attack drones. Unfortunately, two civilians were killed in Kyiv due to falling debris. In the Zhytomyr region, Russians attacked an infrastructure facility. A fire broke out due to the fall of drone debris. There were no casualties. The wreckage also damaged the railway track.


Ukraine's Foreign Minister explained how group of 31 soldiers made offensive on Robotyne possible

The foreign minister said that for several months, one Ukrainian unit had been conducting continuous assaults in this area of the front, and due to exhaustion and losses, at some point, this unit lost the ability to continue the offensive. And then "radical decisions" were made: the unit's leadership was changed. The minister said that the new commander asked to assemble soldiers who were motivated and ready to perform combat missions. A consolidated group of 31 soldiers was created, a third of whom had no combat experience, but all of whom had the knowledge and will to win. In total, this unit conducted six assaults and two reconnaissance missions in 40 days. A group of 31 men did the work of an entire battalion, which should have consisted of about 400 men.


EU might train 40,000 Ukrainian troops by year's end

The EU's top diplomat, Josep Borrell said that the European Union countries have discussed the possibility of increasing the target indicator of their training mission for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, EUMAM, since they are set to achieve the preliminary goal by the end of October. "The mission has already trained 25,000 Ukrainian soldiers. We will have the planned end-of-year figure of 30,000 soldiers by the end of October... I proposed to the ministers to raise the objective of the mission to 40,000 soldiers trained by the end of the year," he noted.


Satellite shows barricade barges against Ukrainian drones near Crimean Bridge

The Russians have installed barges south of the Crimean Bridge that are supposed to become "barricades" covering the bridge against Ukrainian naval drones. These barges will most likely be used as the foundation for a barricade against Ukrainian naval drones. The images taken on 19 and 21 August also show preparatory work in this district.
