Zelenskyy confirms the delivery of F-16s and congratulates troops on the Air Force Day

Speaking during the awarding ceremony on the Day of the Ukrainian Air Force on 4 August 2024, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that the first F-16 fighter jets have arrived in Ukraine. He also thanked Ukrainian servicemen of the Air Force who have been protecting Ukrainian skies for two and a half years of the full-scale war and didn’t allow Russians to take dominance in the sky despite much fewer means at Ukraine’s Air Force disposal.


Russian Su-34 jet destroyed in Ukraine's strike on Morozovsk airfield

The Ukrainian military destroyed a Russian Su-34 fighter-bomber aircraft and an ammunition depot at the Morozovsk airfield in Russia's Rostov Oblast on August 3, Ukraine's Defense Intelligence said on August 5, citing satellite imagery. Two other Su-34 Russian aircraft were probably damaged by debris, according to the military intelligence agency.


Ukraine's ombudsman appeals to UN due to alleged brutal execution of Ukrainian POW

Due to the murder of a Ukrainian by the Russian troops, Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets has already turned to international organizations. The photo shows a human body with severed limbs and a head. This footage may be shocking, so we have decided not to publish it. "This is not just a violation of the Geneva Convention on the Treatment of Prisoners of War, this is the behavior of inhumans!" emphasized Lubinets and added that according to the norms of international humanitarian law, no prisoner of war can be subjected to physical mutilation, violence or murder.


Ukraine receives $3.9 billion grant from the US for budget support

Ukraine has received a $3.9 billion non-repayable grant from the United States via the World Bank, announced Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal. This funding is designated for priority budget expenditures including salaries for teachers, staff of the State Emergency Service, and other public employees, as well as aid for displaced persons, low-income families, and people with disabilities.


Kuleba arrives in Malawi as his Africa tour begins

Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba arrived in Malawi as the first step in his fourth diplomatic tour in Africa, Ukraine's Foreign Ministry said on Aug. 5. Kuleba met with Malawian President Lazarus Chakwera in Lilongwe, thanking the country for its consistent stance on Russian aggression while highlighting Ukraine's humanitarian assistance.
