Zelenskyy comments on Macron's idea on sending troops to Ukraine

"I was not present at the summit [where Macron made the announcement], but he stated that when he arrives in Ukraine, he will discuss new ideas for strengthening Ukraine and share information. It should be around mid-March... Any global initiatives that strengthen Ukraine benefit the entire world," Zelenskyy said.


Speakers of 23 parliaments address their US counterpart Mike Johnson regarding support for Ukraine

Speakers of 23 parliaments have addressed Mike Johnson, Speaker of the US House of Representatives, urging him to bring the bill to provide US$60.06 billion in aid to Ukraine to the floor after it was passed by the Senate. The letter was signed by the speakers of the parliaments of Germany, Poland, Czechia, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Spain and other countries.


6-year-old girl and 48-year-old man killed in Russian strike

Russian occupation forces struck the village in Kharkiv region with guided aerial bombs at around 16:50 on 28 February, killing two people - a man and a six-year-old girl. The girl’s mother is in a serious condition.


Belgium to fund $ 216 mn for Czech initiative to transfer 800K shells to Ukraine

Belgium will allocate 200 million euros to the Czech initiative to purchase ammunition for Ukraine, Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo said on 28 February. Also the Netherlands Defense Ministry announced a decision to order 9 DITA self-propelled howitzers for Ukraine from two Czech arms manufacturers.


Unrecognised Transnistria asks Russia for ‘protection’ from Moldova's pressure

The so-called MPs of the self-proclaimed Transnistrian Moldovan Republic have appealed to the Russian Federation Council and State Duma for 'protection' in the face of Moldova's alleged 'pressure'. Prior to this, in January 2024, the Moldovan government abolished customs exemptions for Transnistrian entrepreneurs.


Tusk: Poland considers expanding embargo on Ukrainian goods

“We are discussing that it would be possible to extend the embargo to other products if the EU does not find a more effective way to protect the Polish and European markets,” Tusk said.
