In occupied Donetsk, activists raised the Ukrainian flag on the central square

Members of the resistance published a photo showing the Ukrainian flag flying on the administration building which is used by the so-called "DPR" occupation authorities. It is not known when the photo was taken or how long the Ukrainian flag had been flying over the building.


US Secretary of State: Suspension of US aid to Ukraine has already had consequences on the battlefield

The US Congress still has not approved funds to help Ukraine, which has already had consequences on the battlefield in Russia's war against Ukraine, said Secretary of State Antony Blinken during a joint conference with Jens Stoltenberg, NATO Secretary General. "Everything that Ukraine has achieved and we [the United States] have helped them achieve will be in jeopardy. And absent that supplement, we're going to be sending a strong and wrong message to all our adversaries that we are not serious about the defense of freedom, the defense of democracy. It will simply reinforce for Vladimir Putin that he can somehow outlast Ukraine and outlast us," the US Secretary of State commented on the delay in aid.


During the two-year occupation of Melitopol, Russia has brought over 100,000 of its citizens into the city

Russians have brought more than 100,000 of their citizens to Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia region, since the temporary occupation of the city, according to Melitopol Mayor Ivan Fedorov. To replace Ukrainians, Russia brought in migrant workers, military personnel and other Russian citizens. The pre-war population of Melitopol was about 150,000. 


Hungary's PM confirms his willingness to unblock €50bn for Ukraine, under one condition

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has confirmed that Budapest sent a compromise agreement to Brussels last Saturday, which will unblock €50bn in EU funding for Ukraine. The Hungarian prime minister revealed that under the compromise, he will agree to release funding to Ukraine "if you guarantee that the decision to continue sending money will be reviewed every year". 


IMF improves forecast for Russia's economic growth due to increase in military spending

The International Monetary Fund expects Russia's GDP to grow by 2.6%, which is more than double the rate the IMF predicted in October and slightly slower than the 3% growth expected in 2023. Russia’s economy will expand much more rapidly this year than previously expected, as President Vladimir Putin’s military spending feeds through into wider growth.
