Two years after terrorist attack in Olenivka prison camp

Two years ago Russia committed a war crime against unarmed prisoners of war. On July 28, 2022 the barrack with the Azov fighters was fired at with thermobaric shells. During the terrorist attack in Olenivka, 53 Azov POWs were killed, more than a hundred were wounded. Some of the severely wounded continue to remain in Russian captivity for 2 years already. For two years, the Russian Federation has not allowed any international organizations, independent journalists or observers to the crime scene. After the Olenivka terrorist attack, the colony was no longer used.


Ukraine to prepare action plan for peace by end of November – Zelenskyy

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that an action plan for achieving peace in Ukraine will be ready by the end of November. The President stressed that he can’t react to calls for a ceasefire as long as Russia keeps occupying Ukrainian territory.


Ukraine damaged Russia's Tu-22M3 bomber 1,800 kilometers away from border

Ukrainian forces hit the Olenya military airfield in Russia's Murmansk Oblast, damaging a Tu-22M3 bomber, Ukraine's Defense intelligence spokesperson, Andrii Yusov, confirmed on July 29 on national television. Ukrainian drones attacked the Russian airfields of Olenya in Murmansk Oblast, Engels in Saratov Oblast, and Diagilevo in Ryazan Oblast overnight on July 27. Ukraine also struck an oil refinery in the latter of the three oblasts.


US announces $200 million defense aid package for Ukraine

The United States pledged a new package of weapons, ammunition and other defense aid for Ukraine worth up to $200 million, U.S. National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby announced on July 29. The package is being provided to Kyiv under the presidential drawdown authority (PDA), which takes military equipment from existing U.S. military stockpiles, meaning that potential procurement-related delays will be limited.


5th Indian citizen killed in war against Ukraine

Ravi Moun, a 22-year-old Indian citizen forcibly recruited into the Russian army, died in the war against Ukraine, AFP reported on July 29, citing Moun's relatives. The Indian national traveled to Russia in January after a private employment agent promised him a job in the transportation sector. Moun was inducted into the military when he arrived in Russia, his brother Ajay told the news agency.
