Ukraine rebukes Orban’s Moscow visit: “No agreements without us”

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s Moscow visit to discuss peace in Ukraine was not coordinated with Kyiv, Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry stated. Ukraine maintains its 10-point peace plan and the recent Swiss summit as the sole realistic path to ending the 2.5-year war with Russia. EU High Representative Josep Borrell clarified that Orban’s visit carries no EU mandate, despite Hungary’s current EU Council presidency.


Orban says Kyiv and Moscow's positions on peace 'are very far apart'

Hungary's Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on July 5 that Ukraine and Russia's stances on the full-scale invasion and prospects for peace are "very far apart." The insight came to him during a trip to visit Russian dictator Vladimir Putin in Moscow, just days after meeting President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv. "Over the past two and a half years, we have realized that we cannot achieve peace without dialogue and diplomatic channels," Orban said at a press conference with Putin.


Germany bolsters Ukraine’s air defense against Russian missiles with third Patriot system

As Russia persists in its bombardment of Ukrainian civilians and energy infrastructure across various oblasts, the German Ambassador to Ukraine announced that Germany delivered a third Patriot air defense system to Ukraine and that the Ukrainian military personnel completed their training to operate it in Germany.


Death toll rises to 8 in Dnipro July 3 attack

Another woman injured in the Russian combined attack on Dnipro on July 3 has died in a hospital, raising the death toll to eight, Dnipropetrovsk Governor Serhiy Lysak reported. The Apollo shopping center, three hospitals, schools and kindergartens were damaged in the city in the Russian attack on Wednesday.


Stoltenberg hopes Ukraine will join NATO within 10 years

Stoltenberg was asked about the possible expansion of NATO in the next ten years. "I really hope that Ukraine will become an ally," said Stoltenberg, who is leaving the post of secretary general in the autumn.
