Large-scale Russian attack on Ukraine: 36 people killed, 149 injured

Russia launched a mass missile attack on Kyiv and other cities across Ukraine on the morning of July 8, killing at least 36 civilians and injuring 149 others, according to the State Emergency Service. The aerial attack targeted Kyiv, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Sloviansk, Pokrovsk, and Kramatorsk, damaging "50 civilian sites, including residential buildings, a business center, and two medical facilities," the State Emergency Service reported.


Russia hits children’s hospital in Ukraine’s capital during widespread deadly missile attack

A Russian missile struck the largest children's hospital Ohmatdyt in Ukraine’s capital Monday, part of a barrage of aerial attacks on areas throughout the country. An online video obtained by Reuters showed a missile falling from the sky towards the children's hospital followed by a large explosion. The location of the video was verified from visible landmarks. The Security Service of Ukraine identified the missile as an Kh-101 cruise missile. Thousands of children, including those with cancer, undergo treatment at the hospital every year.


Ukraine calls UN Security meeting after mass Russian attack across country

Ukraine requested an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council on July 8 after Russia killed dozens civilians in a mass aerial attack across the country, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced. "We must hold Russia accountable for terror and (Putin for the orders to launch strikes," the President said during the joint press conference with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Warsaw. 


Ukraine's air defense shot down 30 out of 38 Russian missiles

According to early data, Russian war criminals fired 38 different types of missiles, including 1 aeroballistic Kh-47M2 Kinzhal and 4 Iskander-M ballistic missiles. Ukraine’s air defense managed to destroy 30 of them. 


Ukraine and Poland sign security agreement

The signing took place during President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit to Warsaw on Monday. The agreement was signed on behalf of Poland by the Polish president, Donald Tusk. Details of the agreement have not yet been disclosed.


Hungarian Prime Minister Orban arrives in Beijing on Peace mission efforts

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban arrived in Beijing on 8 July to continue his “peace mission,” as he announced on X. This visit marks the third stop in Orban’s recent diplomatic tour, following meetings in Kyiv and Moscow. Reuters, citing Hungarian government spokesman Bertalan Havasi, reports that Orban is scheduled to meet with Chinese leader Xi Jinping.
