Ukraine hit three Russian S-300/400 air defense batteries in occupied Crimea, General Staff says

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the Defense Forces carried out missile strikes on Russian S-400 and S-300 long-range surface-to-air missile systems in the north and west of temporarily occupied Crimea. Particularly, the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck targets in Dzhankoi, Chornomorske and Yevpatoriia. Dzhankoi is located in northern Crimea at least 145 km from the frontline. The town is a major transport hub and home to a Russian helicopter base. Chornomorske and Yevpatoriia are 115 and 175 km away from the war zone, respectively.


Zelenskyy reports successful counteroffensive in Sumy and Kharkiv oblasts

Ryzhivka, Sumy Oblast, Ukrainian troops destroyed Russian flag which had been installed by Russian troops as part of a psychological operations campaign, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Telegram. In Kharkiv Oblast, the Ukrainian military's counteroffensive persists. "We see what steps the enemy is planning and what redeployment they are doing," Zelenskyy stated. "We will respond."


Russian forces drop bomb on residential area in Kharkiv

Early reports indicate that Russian forces struck a residential area on the outskirts of Kharkiv on Monday, 10 June. A house caught on fire. No casualties have been reported so far.


Russia steps up recruiting Africans to fight in Ukraine — British Intelligence

Russia stepped up recruitment of Africans for the war against Ukraine to avoid mobilization within Russia, stated a report by the UK Ministry of Defense. It is noted that Russia probably exhausted resources of prisoners who can be sent to the frontlines. Therefore, they expanded recruitment of foreigners, particularly in Central African countries such as Rwanda, Burundi, Congo, and Uganda.

“The pace of mobilization has now increased,” Parliamentary Defense Committee's Secretary, Roman Kostenko, said. "In the past month, we have recruited, perhaps, as much as in the past six months. In the last four months. We had the highest numbers in May,” he said.
