Russia destroyed 9.2 GW power generation in Ukraine in three months, ambassador says

Russia has destroyed 9.2 GW of Ukraine’s power generation over the past three months through continuous missile attacks on energy infrastructure, the European Union’s Ambassador to Ukraine Katarina Mathernova reported. The attacks have forced Ukraine’s grid operator Ukrenergo to implement emergency blackouts, even on weekends, due to critical electricity shortages after Russian strikes damaged multiple power facilities across the country.


Ukraine's human rights commissioner appeals to UN over video of Ukrainian PoWs being abused on Kharkiv front

Dmytro Lubinets, the Ukrainian Parliament’s Human Rights Commissioner, has contacted the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the UN following the recent release of a video showing the abuse of Ukrainian prisoners of war that is believed to have been filmed on the Kharkiv front. Early reports say this took place on the Kharkiv front, where the Russians are currently attempting to carry out offensive actions. The video shows beatings, humiliation, threats and a mock execution. OSINT analysts identified that a war criminal who abused Ukrainian prisoners of war was Alexei Kiprin, call sign Bars, is a former comrade of neo-Nazi Alexei Milchakov, commander of Sabotage Assault Reconnaissance Group (DShRG) "Rusich" unit.


107 countries to participate in Ukrainian World Peace Summit — Presidential Office

A total of 107 states and several international organizations have confirmed their participation in the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland this June, reported Serhiy Nikiforov, press secretary for the President of Ukraine. He clarified that the Philippines and Singapore, which President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited, will be represented at the summit as well.


VP Harris to attend peace summit in Switzerland instead of Biden

U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris will attend the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland in place of President Joe Biden, the White House press office announced on June 3. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan will also be present at the summit.


Two civilians, including 12-year-old boy, killed in Russian bombardment in Donetsk region

Two people have been killed and one injured in the Russian bombardment of Mykhailivka, Donetsk Oblast. Russian forces dropped a guided aerial bomb on the village on the morning of 3 June and repeated the attack an hour and a half later. At least five houses have been damaged.


Netherlands will not restrict Ukraine's use of F-16s to strike targets in Russia

Dutch Defence Minister Kajsa Ollongren has said that her country will allow Ukraine to use the F-16 fighter jets the Netherlands will supply, including for strikes on targets in Russia.
