Russian Orthodox Church priests destroy identity of deported Ukrainian children – ISW

A joint investigation by Russian opposition student journal DOXA and open-source outlet Kidnapping has shed light on the involvement of the Kremlin-backed Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) in assimilating Ukrainian children who were deported to Russia into Russian culture. ROC clergy have encouraged Ukrainian children to join various "military-patriotic" youth organizations in Russia.


Zelenskyy arrives in Qatar, which helps to return Ukrainian children from Russia

"I arrived in Qatar to hold talks with my friend, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. Qatar assists Ukraine in returning children abducted by Russia. We will discuss these efforts, which are both ongoing within the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children and will be on the agenda for the Peace Summit," Zelenskyy stated.


12 EU countries urge to accelerate negotiations on Ukraine and Moldova's accession

Martin Dvořák, Czech Minister of European Affairs, initiated a letter calling on the Belgian presidency of the Council of the European Union to accelerate progress in discussions for Ukraine and Moldova's EU accession. The letter was signed by another 11 EU member states: Sweden, Finland, Lithuania, Germany, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Estonia, Latvia, and Slovakia.


Russia threatens to target French military instructors if they are sent to Ukraine

“Whoever they are labeled as, whether they are members of the French armed forces or are just mercenaries, they represent an absolutely legitimate target for our armed forces,” said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov echoed this sentiment, emphasizing that the nationality of the instructors is irrelevant and that they would not be granted any special protection.


EBRD to mobilize €300 million to boost Ukraine’s energy security

In response to Russia’s latest attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is providing further funding to the country’s state-owned energy companies, including EBRD clients Ukrenergo, Ukrhydroenergo and Ukrnafta. EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso today signed a memorandum of understanding on an energy security emergency response programme with Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal, setting out plans for further support for Ukraine’s energy sector.
