Russians attack Kharkiv and oblast, killing 7

Russian forces delivered about 15 strikes with S-300/S-400 missiles on the civilian infrastructure of Kharkiv and Kharkiv Oblast, in particular hitting a printing house, on 23 May. Seven people were killed in the attack and 20 more were injured.


Russians build filtration camps for Ukrainians in Volga Oblast

Ukraine’s National Resistance Center has reported that the Russians launched large-scale construction of filtration camps in Volga Oblast under the guise of so-called pioneer camps for children. The Kremlin has been building a system of filtration camps since the beginning of its occupation of Ukraine. In such zones, people are tested for loyalty to the occupation authorities.


US does not support strikes against Russia with Western weapons, but it is up to Ukraine – Blinken in Congress

The United States does not support or encourage Ukraine to use Western-provided weapons for strikes outside Ukrainian territory. However, Ukraine can independently make decisions on how to effectively use these weapons. Blinken emphasized that the task of the United States and its allies is to supply Ukraine with the weapons it needs to repel Russian aggression.


US House Speaker Johnson voices support for Ukraine striking Russia with US arms

US House Speaker Mike Johnson stated that Ukraine should be allowed to wage the war “in the way they see fit” when asked whether he supports the call to allow Ukraine to use US-provided weapons to strike targets inside Russian territory.


Nearly 83% of Europeans back accepting Ukrainian refugees

Vast majority of Europeans support the provision of humanitarian and financial aid to Ukraine and agree to accept refugees, according to a Eurobarometer poll published by the European Commission.
