Ukraine 'sees existing threats' from Russia in Zaporizhzhia sector, Zelensky says
Ukraine is tracking threats from Russian troops in southern Zaporizhzhia Oblast, President Volodymyr Zelensky said on November 25 following a report by Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi. "We see the existing threats," Zelensky said. In early October, Russian troops reportedly renewed their attack in the Zaporizhzhia sector. Kyiv warned of a potential Russian push in the southern region, saying Moscow was deploying trained assault groups to front-line positions in mid-November.
North Korean troops join combat against Ukraine in Kursk region
Over 11,000 North Korean soldiers are stationed in Russia’s Kursk region and have already participated in battles against Ukraine’s Armed Forces, Ukrainian Chief of General Staff Anatoliy Barhylevych stated on national TV on November 25. “These are primarily general-purpose units,” Barhylevych explained. “They are disguised as locals from Russia’s Far East, complete with appropriate documents. They are trained to conduct operations in Europe’s theater of war.”
Ukraine's Defense Intelligence drones strike oil depot in Russia's Kaluga
In an operation carried out by Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, Ukrainian drones struck a fuel and energy infrastructure facility in Russia’s Kaluga Oblast on the night of 24–25 November. The target of the attack was a Kaluganefteprodukt oil depot, which is part of the Russian defence industrial base backing the Russian aggression against Ukraine.
UN has recorded 376 sexual violence cases related to Russian war against Ukraine
A total of 376 cases of sexual violence have been documented during Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, the United Nations Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine (HRMMU) reported on November 25. The figure includes 262 men, most of whom were tortured in captivity on occupied territories or in Russia, 104 women, as well as children — 10 girls and two boys, according to the report.
The Russians hit Odesa with missiles — there are casualties
On the afternoon of November 25, Russian troops hit the center of Odesa with a missile. Civilian infrastructure was damaged: residential buildings, cars, dentistry, beauty salon, shops, flower shops. Also, two educational facilities — a school and a sports hall of the university — were damaged, windows and doors were broken. Teachers and students were in shelters at the time of the attack. 11 civilians had been injured.
UK imposes sanctions on 30 ships of Russia's shadow fleet
On Monday, the UK imposed sanctions on 30 ships from Russia’s shadow fleet, which are responsible for transporting oil and oil products worth billions of pounds over the past year. This move, they added, will further limit the Kremlin's ability to fund its illegal war in Ukraine and its global malicious activities. It will also increase the total number of oil tankers sanctioned by the UK to 73, more than any other country.
