Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrives on a visit to Romania

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived on a visit to Romania. The Presidents of Ukraine and Romania have signed a statement on a long-term strategic partnership between the countries. "Romania will support Ukraine until it wins the war and liberates all its territories, as well as rebuilds the country," Iohannis said. The Romanian president also says that he will support the decision to open negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the European Union in December this year. He emphasizes that Ukraine should continue to implement reforms on its way to EU membership.


Russians attack border areas of Sumy region, killing child

Russian forces have attacked the village of Uhroidy, Sumy region, fatally wounding a 13-year-old child, who died in an ambulance on the way to a hospital in Sumy.


Zelenskyy signs law on returning and opening of electronic declarations

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed the law on the return of electronic declarations of income for public officials, with the immediate opening of the register.


Russia fails to get into the UN Human Rights Council for 2024-2026

Russia did not receive enough votes to get into the UN Human Rights Council for 2024-2026. The UN press service reports this. The quota of Central European countries was allocated to Albania and Bulgaria. Russia received 83 votes out of the required 97 for election.


The International Monetary Fund improves its forecast for Ukraine's GDP in 2023-2024

The International Monetary Fund expects Ukraine's economic growth to improve to 2% in 2023, while in 2022 this figure is -29.1%, mainly because of the war. Next year, the IMF predicts that Ukraine's GDP will grow to 3.2%. In April, the IMF expected Ukraine's GDP to stabilize at -3% after falling due to Russia's full-scale invasion.
