Ukraine to reveal Victory Plan in the coming days

Ukraine’s victory plan is set to be unveiled soon, possibly within the next few days, Ukraine’s Ambassador to Germany, Oleksii Makeiev, said. The plan will include a combination of military, diplomatic, and economic measures aimed at compelling Russia to engage in negotiations. It also involves additional sanctions against Russia as part of the broader strategy.


North Koreans fighting in Ukraine alongside Russians, Zelenskyy says

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Sunday that North Korean troops are now fighting alongside Russian forces in Ukraine, appearing to confirm reports that have been circulating in recent weeks. Zelensky, in a video address, said there was an “increasing alliance” between Russia and North Korea, which are already cooperating on arms and technology. “This is no longer just about transferring weapons,” Zelensky said. “It is actually about transferring people from North Korea to the occupying military forces.”


Russian commanders are encouraging executions of Ukrainian POWs, ISW reports

The American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) has reported a rise in the executions of Ukrainian prisoners of war (POWs) by Russian military forces. Their latest reports suggest that Russian commanders may be permitting, encouraging, or even directly ordering these acts. On October 1 it was reported that Russian troops executed 16 Ukrainian POWs in the Pokrovsk direction. Additionally, the report highlights that Russian military bloggers frequently praise these executions, reflecting a broader culture that could be enabling systematic killings of Ukrainian soldiers.


Ukraine destroys Russian Tu-134 military leadership aircraft

Ukraine destroyed a Russian Tu-134 military transport aircraft belonging to Russia’s 117th Military Transport Aviation Regiment on the night of 12-13 October, according to Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence. Ukraine targets aircraft like the Tu-134 because it is used for transporting high-ranking Russian military officials, making it a strategic asset in Russia’s command and control infrastructure during the war.


Russian ballistic missile attack on Odesa kills 1, injures 8

A Russian ballistic missile strike on Odesa’s port infrastructure killed one person and injured eight people, according to Odesa Governor Oleh Kiper. The attack is part of Russia’s ongoing campaign of deliberate daily air strikes on residential areas in attempts to terrorize civilians and damage civilian infrastructure. According to Kiper, the killed and injured were port infrastructure workers and Ukrainian citizens.


EU imposes new sanctions on Iranian firms and officials over Russia missile transfers

The Council of the European Union has adopted new restrictive measures against seven Iranian individuals and seven entities in response to Iran’s transfer of missiles and drones to Russia. This came after the European intelligence sources claimed that Iran was training Russian personnel on Fath-360 ballistic missile systems and preparing to deliver hundreds of them to Russia. While the Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian denied these allegations, the intelligence sources and statements from other Iranian officials suggested that the shipments had actually taken place.
