Zelenskyy announces US$800 military aid package for drone production in Ukraine
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in his evening adress that the United States is preparing a US$800 million aid package that will go to finance drone production in Ukraine. Zelenskyy mentioned negotiations with US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, who was visiting Kyiv, and referred to the US$400 million aid package, which was announced recently.

Russian attacks against Ukraine kill 5, injure 38 over past day
Russian attacks across Ukraine killed at least four people and injured at least 37 over the past day, including a child, regional authorities reported early on October 21. Ukrainian air defenses shot down 59 of the 116 Shahed-type attack drones launched by Russia overnight, the Air Force said. Forty-five drones were reportedly "lost" on Ukrainian territory, and 10 more were still present in the Ukrainian airspace at the time of the publication.

Russian neo-nazi unit confirms use of chemical weapons against Ukrainian positions
Recent statements from the Russian telegram channels have acknowledged accusations of deploying chemical weapons against Ukrainian forces. Previously, Russian authorities dismissed these allegations as “unfounded.” However, a video shared on one of the Russian neo nazi unit’s channels Rusich featured a message stating: “We are targeting Ukrainian strongholds with VOG grenades and chloropicrin.”
EU claims unprecedented Russian interference in Moldova’s elections
Peter Stano, spokesperson for the European Union’s foreign policy service, stated that the first round of presidential elections in Moldova occurred amid unprecedented Russian interference. His remarks were made during a briefing in Brussels on October 20.
