Invading Russian troops murder family in occupied Volnovakha for refusing to give up home

Russian troops murdered an entire family in Russian-occupied Volnovakha, Donetsk Oblast, for refusing to give their homes to Chechen troops, Ukrainian Parliament Ombudsman for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets wrote. Lubinets said that nine people had been killed by the Russians in a house during a birthday party. Among the dead were a 4th-grade student and a preschool boy. Gunshot wounds were found on the bodies of the victims.


Russians executed Ukrainian POWs on the Zaporizhzhia direction

On the Zaporizhzhia direction the Russians shot Ukrainian prisoners of war. Drone footage shows Ukrainian military men lying with their hands tied, and shots were most likely fired into the back of their heads.


Russian anti-Semitism fuels chaos in Makhachkala airport

An angry mob stormed the airport in the Russian city of Makhachkala intending to attack a flight arriving from Tel Aviv. Groups of rampaging men searched every nook and cranny for their prey in the videos posted online. Others checked vehicles and pedestrians on the outskirts of the airport, demanding to see passports and shouting abuse at anyone who looked "suspicious" – like one Uzbek doctor who was taken to task by the angry crowd.


Training F-16 fighter jets for Ukrainians to arrive in Romania in 2 weeks

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, and Mark Rutte, acting Prime Minister of the Netherlands, have had a conference call dedicated to Ukraine’s defense needs, European security and the situation in the Middle East. "I was also able to inform President Zelensky that the F-16s the Netherlands pledged in order to strengthen Ukrainian air defenses will arrive at the training center in Romania in two weeks’ time. That means that the training courses for the Ukrainian pilots who will fly them can start shortly," Rutte said.


Ukrainians convinced that now is not time for elections

The majority of Ukrainians believe that national elections should be held after the end of the war, and now is not the time. The results of the KIIS survey as of October 2023 show that 81% of respondents believe that elections should be held after the war and now is not the time. 16% believe that elections should be held despite the war.


Russians attack route bus in Kherson, injuring seven people

The Russians struck a route bus in the city of Kherson in the afternoon, injuring seven people. One woman is in the hospital in critical condition.
