Zelenskyy: Ukraine will not cede territory, regardless of US election results

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that Ukraine will not make territorial concessions, regardless of the results of the US elections or the level of continued support from the United States. Zelenskyy underscored that Ukraine will not recognise its occupied territories as Russian, "no matter what anyone wants, who wins in the United States, or how long Putin remains Russia’s leader – it’s simply impossible".


Zelenskyy: Military clash with North Korean troops is matter of days, not months

The Ukrainian president said Russia is planning to use North Korean soldiers on the battlefield in Ukraine shortly. "This is a matter of days, not months," he noted. Zelenskyy also stated that he is aware of approximately 3,000 North Korean soldiers currently stationed in a Russian training camp, with plans for this number to rise to 12,000.


Russian bomb strike killed three including two children, injured 34 

Russian forces launched a guided aerial bomb attack on a residential building in Kharkiv late on 30 October, killing three people including a 12-year-old boy and injuring 36 others, local officials report. The strike, which occurred at 22:49 local time, targeted a nine-story apartment building in Kharkiv’s Saltivskyi district. 


WP: Russian drones targeting Kherson civilians in ongoing “human safari”

Russian forces have transformed the southern Ukrainian city of Kherson into a dangerous “human safari”, systematically targeting civilians through intense drone attacks, The Washington Post reports. According to the Kherson military administration, between July and October 2024, these drone strikes have killed 133 people and injured 1,350. The attacks represent a unique form of warfare, with Russian forces positioned just across the Dnieper River, utilizing small drones to strike civilian targets. Oleksandr Prokudin, the regional governor, reported nearly 7,000 drone attacks in Kherson Oblast since August.


UN: Sexual violence against Ukrainian male detainees widespread in Russian custody

The UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Ukraine has determined that Russia’s systematic torture of Ukrainian prisoners of war and civilians constitutes a crime against humanity, according to a new report presented to the General Assembly. Russian forces systematically torture Ukrainian prisoners of war in detention centers through severe physical abuse, starvation, sleep deprivation, and psychological torment, often leading to deaths that are falsely attributed to illnesses like tuberculosis.
